Thierry Cusin
Regional Managing Director (Asia-Pac) Oil & Gas
Thierry is French, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, who began his career working in France on major projects in Infrastructure and Construction. In 1990 he moved to the service side and has spent the last 22 years providing superior talent solutions to MNCs operating in Europe, Africa, SEAsia, Central Asia and Russia. After 16 years building up a global Oil & Gas business headquartered out of Geneva, Thierry relocated to Asia in early 2011 to head up Vinarco Oil & Gas.
Maro Simatovic
Regional Managing Director (Asia-Pac), ICT
Maro is a Croatian who early on immigrated to the USA. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and spent his early career years in Silicon Valley, working for technology start-ups and companies such as Walt Disney Internet Group. After developing a number of successful businesses in US and Europe, he relocated to the Middle East in 2005. Based in Bahrain, he founded a very successful Telecom and IT services company with operations throughout the GCC markets, eventually extending to the broader Middle East region and Asia. In early 2011 Maro joined Vinarco and heads our Information and Communications Technologies Division in Asia-Pacific.
Roger Smart
Regional Managing Director, Vinarco Middle East
Roger is British, has over 30 years experience in recruitment in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. He is a highly regarded business starter and leader in all those regions, having most recently established the Middle East operations for a global recruitment solutions provider. Resident in the Middle East for the last 6 years and now based in Dubai, since 2011 Roger has headed up all Vinarco operations in the Middle East, including Telecoms, Infrastructure, Aviation, but primarily focusing on Oil & Gas.
Michael Binney
Chief Financial Officer
Michael is British, qualified in the UK as a CPA, and moved to Asia with KPMG in 1983 followed by PwC. After moving to the corporate side, for 20 years he fulfilled the roles of FD/CFO/COO for a billion (US) dollar Hong Kong-based conglomerate. He has worked in all the key Asia markets, having lived in several of them, and is fully familiar with the regulatory, legal and tax structures in each. He joined Vinarco as Group CFO across all companies in Asia-Pacific and Middle East in early 2010.
Matthew Way
Chief Technology Officer
Matthew is a New Zealander whose lifelong passion has been keeping up with the ongoing technological revolution, and which naturally led him into a career dedicated to Information Technology. Matt worked with top-security clearances for major government institutions and leading corporations in New Zealand for the first 15 years of his career, before re-locating to Asia in 2007. He joined the Vinarco Group in 2009 and commutes regularly between our operations in China, Vietnam, Thailand and the Middle East, ensuring our IT systems are efficient, robust, secure and state-of-the art.
Andrew McDowell
External Director
Andrew is a New Zealander and speaks German and Thai. He spent the first 30 years of his career in a large German multinational corporation. Starting in a Technical role in New Zealand, he went on to work in Germany, Thailand, Japan, and Malaysia holding positions such as Country Manager, Managing Director, Regional Financial Controller, and eventually CEO of South East Asia. Andrew was COO for Vinarco from 2005-2008 and has been an External Director since then.
Clive Butcher
External Director
Clive is British and speaks fluent German, Dutch and Japanese. He has lived and worked in Asia for 20 years. His career in banking took him to positions as General Manager in London and Singapore after periods as Treasury Manager in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. From 2008-2010, he was Group CFO and implemented the Group’s Treasury and hedging functions which govern our cross-border transactions across 18 countries in 3 continents. After stepping down as CFO, Clive became one of our two External Directors and continues to provide expert advice on the Group’s Treasury and FX hedging.
Vincent Swift
Chairman
Vincent is British, has worked in Asia since 1983, managing international companies across Asia-Pac in Executive Search, Recruitment and Management Development. He has worked and managed businesses in all the major Asian markets. Vincent was instrumental in the setting up of Vinarco in 1998, and is privileged to act as Chairman of the Board. He is also engaged in the Executive Search business as Chairman Asia-Pacific of TRANSEARCH, one of the world’s leading executive search firms, and is the former Global Chairman of the AESC.
